Ruination provided an interesting challenge of adapting the League art style into Valorant weapons. I was responsible for the Phantom, Black Mist crystal shader seen on all guns, and worked closely with our Outsource Mangers to oversee and raise the quality bar on the other three guns. Keep an eye out for the awesome concepts we worked from!
While working with the FX artists, we adjusted the Black Mist shader to better support calling some parameters of the material in Blueprints so we could better match the beats of the weapon interaction to the FX and audio. Overall, I'm really happy with how these came out and I hope players enjoy them!
